Resumen:

This chapter discusses the issues related to the statistical evaluation of the impacts of language policies in a broad sense, connected to the recent findings in the econometrics of impact evaluation. The chapter includes a general discussion about the main framework and then presents several empirical strategies that can be adopted, given the type of intervention and data availability (distinguishing between experimental and non-experimental data), to achieve causal estimates of the impact of language policies. For every possible approach, the chapter also contains a brief and intuitive discussion of recent papers that apply each different econometric methodology.
